About us

Groovy Grooming was established in 2001 and we offer all aspects of grooming from a simple bath, nail clip and ear clean for your Labrador, to a full show clip for your Poodle.

Our aims are to create a stress free environment for your dog so grooming can be a fun experience for them. We also aim to provide you with an expert opinion on what treatments are best for your breed.

Meet the Team

All our staff hold the OCN level 3 Pet First aid qualification, so your dog is in safe hands.

Sue

"Hi! I'm the owner of Groovy Grooming and Snazzy Swimmers. I started Groovy Grooming in 2001 and it has kept me sane for the past 20+ years!

I hold my level 3 qualification in grooming and my level 3 and 4 in canine hydrotheraphy, which led to Snazzy Swimmers becoming a reality in 2021.

I love my job every day and feel very privileged to be in this situation. Our team is amazing and I love that we are still striving to learn different aspects of the job to continue our personal development.

I have my own little cairn terrier named Freya, who is a true water baby and is in the pool every morning...whether I like it or not!"

Laura

"Hi I'm Laura and I have been at Groovy Grooming for 5 years, having previously worked and trained at another salon for 3 years.

I am level 3 qualified and I love my job. It's different every day and our team work so well together, I look forward to go to work!

I have 2 dogs and 2 cats and I prefer animals to humans!"

Emma

"I'm Emma and I have worked at Groovy Grooming for the past 10 years.

My favourite part of my job (aside from working with lots of furry friends) is working with the incredibly talented team here!

When I'm not working, I am usually spending time with friends and family, going out for dinner or enjoying long dog walks with my beautiful Rottie, Maze.

I also run my own events business called SET Events with my two daughters. Basically, I do everything from clipping dogs to catering festivals and everything in between!"

Penny

"Hi I'm Penny and have been at Groovy Grooming for 5 years. I trained here obtaining my level 2 and 3 City & Guilds qualifications and never left!

I am an official crazy dog lady, owning 6 dogs which obviously keeps me busy and I love to walk in the woods with my little four-legged gang.

My older dog Sparky loves to come and swim at Snazzy Swimmers, which has helped tremendously with his arthritis!"

"Hi I'm Mia and I am the office genius dealing with the phone calls and all the admin!

I have worked here for 4 years and Sue is my sister.

I have learnt a lot about the grooming business since being here and admire how hard the team work, and how they go above and beyond to ensure that the dogs are as comfortable as possible during their short stay with us."
